Anton Corbijn, který se vypracoval na tvorbě hudebních videoklipů předních světových kapel, se pustil do biografického dramatu o svém oblíbenci Ianu Curtisovi, legendárním frontmanovi post-punkových Joy Division. Snímek s bohatou hudební složkou podle knižní předlohy Curtisovy manželky zaujme i diváky, kteří se s Joy Division doposud nesetkali. (oficiální text distributora)
O post-punkové skupině Joy Division byl už natočen celkem úspěšný snímek s názvem Nonstop party (2002), film Control ale dává divákovi trochu syrovější náhled na celý život kolem Iana Curtise, zakladatele kapely, a jeho přátel.
Ian Curtis v sobě už od mládí nacházel talent k psaní básní a obraznému vyjadřování svých pocitů. Inspirací mu byla hudba Davida Bowieho a knihy od W. Burroughse a J. Conrada. Do kapely Warsaw se dostal přes inzerát, ve kterém se členové sháněli po zpěvákovi. Nepříliš úspěšné začátky vystřídala oslnivá sláva se spoustou fanynek, které se dožadovaly Curtisova temného projevu a tance, jenž připomínal epileptický záchvat. Ian dlouho pendloval mezi prací úředníka, nahráváním desky s Joy Division a staráním se o dcerku Natalii, kterou zplodil se svou mladičkou manželkou Deborah, ale psychicky tuto situaci nesl velmi těžce.
Sňatek, jenž Curtis uzavřel ve svých osmnácti letech, byl neustále v krizi kvůli jeho koncertování a pozdějšímu vztahu s fanynkou Anniké. Ian věří, že našel lásku svého života, ale nemá sílu vykašlat se na svou rodinu. Zmítá se mezi pochybnostmi, nedůvěřuje sám sobě, a k tomu všemu ho přepadávají záchvaty epilepsie. Přestává brát prášky, protože jejich vedlejší účinky mu způsobují únavu, a často přímo na pódiu omdlévá - tato zákeřná nemoc ho prý inspirovala k napsání písně She's lost control. "Zmatek v jejích očích mluví za vše. Ztratila nad sebou kontrolu. A tiskne se k nejbližšímu kolemjdoucímu. Ztratila nad sebou kontrolu. A dala najevo tajemství ze své minulosti. A řekla: "Znovu jsem nad sebou ztratila kontrolu..."
Bezvýchodnost, bezradnost a nedůvěra v sám sebe - to všechno přesvědčuje Curtise, aby spáchal sebevraždu. Píše úžasně temné texty, do kterých vkládá své pocity - nejznámější jsou písně Love Will Tear Us Apart (Láska nás rozdělí), Isolation (Izolace) a Transmission (Přenos).
"Když stereotyp ubíjí a ctižádost je malá, nespokojenost stoupá, emoce ale nenarůstají a my měníme směr a jdeme každý jinou cestou.. Pak nás láska, láska znovu rozdělí... Proč je ložnice tak chladná? Když jsi otočená na druhou stranu. Načasoval jsem to špatně? Opravdu naše city vyprchaly? Zbývá ještě ta přitažlivost, kterou jsme si po celý život uchovali..." Love will tear us apart.
Ian Curtis zemřel ve čtyřiadvaceti letech. Oběsil se na prádelní šňůře při poslechu desky Idiot od Iggyho Popa. Jeho manželka Debbie později napsala knihu Touching from a Distance, která se stala podkladem pro scénář ke Control. Iana si zahrál Sam Riley, zpěvák skupiny 10, 000 Things.
Tento zatraceně stylový film vám nepřinese biografii skupiny Joy Division - o ostatních členech se totiž skoro nezmiňuje. Přinese vám ale dokonalé vyjádření niterních pocitů Iana Curtise, který se neustále zmítal v depresích a pochybnostech. Snímek byl nejprve natočen barevně, do kin však šel jako černobílý, což přitvrdilo drsnou atmosféru osmdesátých let. Máte jedinečnou možnost na dvě hodiny vstoupit do anglického undergroundu s chodbami plných feťáků a hudbou Sex Pistols a možná dokonce pochopit složitou osobnost Iana Curtise, legendární postavu post-punku osmdesátých let. Nezáleží na tom, jestli posloucháte Joy Divison, nebo ne. Film vás osloví jak hudbou, tak emotivními výkony a neskutečným příběhem s ponurou atmosférou. /zdroj: www.youngstyle.cz/
Sar: Je fakt, že ponurá atmosféra se režisérovi povedla dokonale a i když takové filmy programově nevyhledávám, shlédnutí tohodle filmu je v tomto čase plného umělých módních stylů, absurdních snah po jedinečnosti Emíků, či jak se jim to říká /fakt se omlouvám, hned jak přijde dcera, tak to opravím:-)/prostě všeho toho naaranžovaného, jako nadechnutí se čistého vzduchu opravdových pocitů a opravdového prožitku:-)bla, bla To ale vůbec neznamená, že bych byla schopná pochopit pohnutky hlavního hrdiny/no hrdiny...prostě toho Iana:-)/ těmto lidem nerozumím ani za mák, vlastně mě rozčilují a vytáčejí, takže jsem šla z filmu vytočená...no ale ta muzika má něco do sebe, tihle blázni to prostě umějí:-) Hodnocení: 7
